Please join the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas and the Gateway Cities Promotions committee at the grand opening event for the Visitors Center of the Tonawandas. The event will be held on Saturday, May 15th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Gateway Harbor Park. There will be a ribbon cutting event, downtown activities, tourism related vendors, and much more.

As a subcommittee of the Chamber of Commerce, the Gateway Cities Promotions Committee is dedicated to promoting tourism in the Tonawandas. Their goal is to build on the many existing tourism assets and continue to drive more visitors to the Tonawandas. The Gateway Cities Promotions Committee was instrumental in the development of the Tonawandas Heritage Tour in 2019, which provided users with an audio tour of 26 historic sites throughout the Twin Cities.

The Visitors Center project includes the opening of two visitor center sites including a year- round operation at the Chamber of Commerce Offices (254 Sweeney Street, North Tonawanda, and a seasonal volunteer ran operation at the North Tonawanda Harbor Master Facility in Gateway Harbor Park (99 Sweeney Street).

"This year, The Chamber's largest initiative is implementation of the Tonawandas Visitor Center at the Chamber to show and assist the public in understanding all that is available in our the Tonawandas. To supplement this initiative, during the summer we will also open a satellite Visitor Center at the Harbormaster facility at Gateway Harbor. Both Visitor Centers will be at no cost to the public" according to the President of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Bob Pecoraro.
