North Tonawanda's "Roll Up Your Sleeves" Ward Challenge

From October 2 through October 5, the North Tonawanda Common Council, spearheaded by: - Aldermen-at-Large Jeff Glatz and Bob Pecoraro, Along with partnership from: - the North Tonawanda High School led by Katie Harrington, and - Unyts Account Executive Greg Eastmer are promoting a North Tonawanda "Roll Up Your Sleeves" Challenge to all the residents of North Tonawanda to accomplish two things: - Blood Donations - Member Donor Registry These individuals understand the needs of the community and what a blood or organ donation can do to save or improve a life and desire all residents to support this challenge. Unyts is Western New York's only organ, eye, tissue and community blood center. Their commitment is to save and enhance lives through organ, eye, tissue and blood donation, while maintaining respect for those who give the gift of life. During this challenge, 2 points will be registered for every blood donation and 2 points will also go toward the ward for every donor registry. If a resident completes both the blood donation and donor registry, 5 total points will go toward their ward (if one is has already completed a donor registry, they will be given this credit). So where can you go to complete this challenge: - October 2nd, 3rd or 5th, visit the UNYTS Tonawanda Neighborhood Blood Donation Center on 96 Niagara Street, Tonawanda or; - Visit the North Tonawanda High School Alumni Center on Meadow Drive October 3 between 8:00am - 2:00pm (reservations are highly encouraged). After the event is over, the Aldermen will announce the North Tonawanda Ward winner at the next Common Council meeting set for October 17 at 6:30pm. So what will the winning Ward receive? Besides knowing you have personally made a difference in many lives, the ward will be designated as the 2017 "Roll Up Your Sleeves" Champion!
